VT Brake Light Modulator
£29.95 £49.95
This clever brake light modulator from Visible Technologies (Vizi-Tec) is a simple plug 'n' play affair, courtesy of it's dedicated OEM style connectors suitable for the Ducati 848/1098/1198. Normal retail price for this US manufactured modulator is approx £76.00 plus international shipping.
How It Works
It's a proven fact that motorcycles can decelerate more rapidly than most cars and trucks. The combination of a motorcycle's narrow profile and the brisk change in velocity during braking is the most common cause of rear end accidents involving motorcycles, and often the results are fatal to the rider. Vizible Technologies™ SupaBrake modulator is designed to enhance the reaction time of the vehicle behind you. It pulsates your motorcycle's brake light with a variable number of flashes, calculated by its embedded algorithm. The algorithm is based on the rate at which you apply your brakes. As a result, the brake light is flashed in a more subtle manner at lower speeds (when brakes are frequently used), and more aggressively at higher speeds (when brakes are not used for longer time intervals). Whereas other simpler products on the market continuously blink the brake light with an annoying repeating sequence, each and every time the brakes are applied, 'Supabrake II' pulses in driving conditions when you need to get the immediate attention of drivers without annoying them.
Upon applying the brakes, the SupaBrake sends a burst of pulses to your motorcycle's brake light. The duration of the burst is a function of the time elapsed between the current brake cycle and the previous. After the burst, the unit allows the rear brake light to function normally (solid brake light). This algorithm is designed to eliminate target fixation as found in cheaper, passive versions that continuously blink the brake light, even though the vehicle is at a complete stop.
At Lower Speeds
When the frequency at which the driver/rider applies the brakes increases, (i.e. during low speeds such as city driving), the shorter the burst of flashes to the rear brake light will be. If the brakes are applied within 0-12 seconds, the brake light will NOT flash, thus allowing it to function normally (solid brake light). This condition is most valuable during heavy stop-and-go traffic so as not to annoy the person or police in the vehicle behind you.
At Cruising / High Speeds
When the frequency at which the driver/rider applies the brakes decreases, (i.e. at cruising speed), the longer the burst to the rear brake light will be. This condition is most valuable during quick sudden deceleration at speeds which require a rapid reaction to changes in traffic conditions or other driver's intentions. It has been scientifically proven that a quick flashing of a vehicle's brakes will alert the driver behind much sooner and the SupaBrake Modulator does this for you.
Don't put other outdated bulkier modules on your motorcycle that pulsate your brake light each and every time you apply your brakes. Most of these cheaper modules will continue to flash your brake light with the same irritating routine even when you are completely stopped in traffic. This is not only illegal and annoying it detracts from the visual appearance of your vehicle and other drivers/riders attention to the road. Some of these passive flashers will claim to have an accelerometer module that will supposedly give you a couple of hundreds milliseconds reaction time. We have lab tested and road tested such products. They simply do not work due to the nature of engine vibration, road vibration and mounting angle. These accelerometers were not designed for the automotive environment but rather for gentler hand held devices. Due to the many vectored noise components (vibration) they resulted in poor response and sensitivity.

SHIPPING
United Kingdom
All of our fulfilled orders are shipped using Royal Mail's postal service. Costs are based on the total weight of items in your cart (plus packaging), the destination and the level of service selected during the checkout process. Similarly, delivery times depend on the destination and the level of service selected, as well as other factors such as inclement weather, industrial action etc., which are wholly outside of our control.
European Union
Orders shipped to the EU, will understandably take a little longer and the factors governing shipping costs and delivery times are much as for those for the UK, with the exception that your parcel may be subject to import duties and/or fees, levied by customs. Ricambi Moto UK is not responsible for these charges.
Worldwide
As for EU shipping, please note that your order may be subject to import duties and/or fees. Ricambi Moto UK is not responsible for these charges. Delivery times may vary considerably, depending on your location and the level of service selected.
PLEASE NOTE
Any orders we receive over a weekend, will not ship until the next working day. If your order is urgent, please be aware that we cannot guarantee overnight delivery, even with some of the express delivery options. This is due, in part, to when the order was placed, processed and shipped (for example, if a cut-off time could not be met) and/or other factors beyond our control within Royal Mail's service.
In addition, if the items you order exceed a total cart weight of 20kg (Channel Islands) or 5kg (European & Worldwide destinations), then you will not be offered any shipping options during the checkout process and you will need to contact us to process your order. UK Mainland customers, will still be offered a 'ParcelForce24' service over 20kg, up to a maximum of 30kg. Over any of these weight limitations, you will incur additional charges and/or we may have to use a courier service, such as Fedex, DPD or UPS to fulfill your order.
We currently only offer Royal Mail's "Special Delivery" service to customers in the Channel Islands, as we have found this to be the most reliable and timely option.
